FIND THE correct SIZE

Choosing the correct size is essential for comfort, safety, and effective compression. Compression garments for gynecomastia and FTM chest binding are designed to fit snugly, so accurate measuring is important.

HOW TO MEASURE YOURSELF

  1. Stand upright with your arms relaxed down by your sides.
  2. Using a soft measuring tape, take a snug (not tight) measurement around the fullest part of your chest, positioned over the nipples.
  3. Keep the tape level all the way around your body and breathe normally. Use your measurement to find the correct size in the chart below.

    Tip:
If your measurement falls between two sizes, we generally recommend choosing the larger size for improved comfort, especially for all-day wear.

FAQ - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How tight should a compression garment or chest binder feel?

Compression garments and binders should feel snug and supportive, but never painful or restrictive. You should be able to breathe normally, move comfortably, and wear the garment without discomfort. If it feels difficult to put on, causes pain, or restricts breathing, it may be too small.

Should I size down for more compression?

No. Sizing down is not recommended. These garments are designed to provide effective compression when worn in the correct size. Choosing a size that is too small can reduce comfort, limit movement, and affect safe wear.

What if my measurement falls between two sizes?

If your chest measurement falls between sizes, we recommend choosing the larger size, especially if you plan to wear the garment for extended periods or daily use.

Can I wear these garments all day?

When correctly sized, many customers comfortably wear compression garments throughout the day. For FTM chest binders, it’s recommended to take regular breaks and avoid extended wear beyond safe guidelines. Always listen to your body and remove the garment if you feel discomfort.

Are these garments suitable for post-surgery use?

We have two compression vests that are specifically designed for post-gynecomastia surgery recovery:

Post Surgical Vest | Single layer
Post Surgical Vest | Double layer

Always follow your surgeon’s recommendations.

Will the garment be visible under clothing?

Our compression shirts, vests, and binders are designed to be low-profile and discreet, making them suitable for wearing under everyday clothing. A proper fit helps minimise visibility. Some of the compression vests will be invisible under clothes, while some of the thicker vests and T-shirts will look like an undershirt.

How do I know if I’ve chosen the wrong size?

Signs of an incorrect size include difficulty breathing, rolling or pinching of fabric, excessive discomfort, or limited movement. If the garment feels loose and provides little compression, it may be too large.

Are gynecomastia compression garments and FTM chest binders sized the same?

While both use chest measurements, fit and compression levels may differ by product. Always refer to the size chart provided for each garment and measure yourself carefully before ordering.

Can I wear a compression garment while exercising?

Light activity may be possible with certain compression shirts, but chest binders are generally not recommended for strenuous exercise. Always check the product guidance and prioritise comfort and safety.

I’m unsure which product or size to choose — what should I do?

If you’re unsure, we recommend reviewing the size chart carefully and choosing based on your chest measurement. When in doubt, selecting the larger size usually provides better comfort and wearability. If you need help, please feel free to email us on: sales@xbody.co.uk
